It was the middle of the summer and sunrise was early so I decided to drive to Moraine Lake the night before and sleep in my car. I set my alarm for an hour before sunrise and called it a night, when my alarm woke me I collected my gear and headed to the top of the “rock pile”. I set my gear up and waited, a low hanging cloud looked like it might deprive the sunrise of colour but as the sun peaked above the mountains across the valley it slipped just under the shelf cloud and lit up the peaks perfectly.
There are two of ready to go to their forever homes.
