It was less than an hour before the sun would set and I knew that if I wasn't quick about things I would miss it entirely. Earlier in the day I spotted a lava rock gold mine from the highway. I decided that it would be best to shoot from there. The walk down to the beach was relatively easy but climbing out into position on the rocks not as much. It was a little touch and go making sure I didn't fall with all my gear into the water around me. The ocean was crashing into the rocks and filling the valleys. I surely would have drowned had I made the wrong move and fallen. I managed to get to the furthest out crop of rocks and set up my camera moments before the sun dropped below the horizon.
