These images were done using the same method I used for shooting the water but I replaced the water with a specialized coloured powder. Now I had to shoot these images in complete darkness and use a flash triggered by sound to freeze the motion. This was done this way because a DSLR is not fast enough to capture the exact moment after the balloon pops. The trigger was set to make the flash fire when a sound was made, the delay was set based on the level of the sound. As soon as the balloon popped I ended the exposure. It took hundreds of shots to get just these two images. Some times I would miss the balloon, sometimes the balloon would not pop, other times there would be a noise that triggered the flash too early or multiple times ruining the image.
